I feel like a lot of women are not happy with their bodies and spend a lot of time doing fad diets and trust me, I was no different! I wanted results, I wanted to look good, but I didn’t know the right way of going about it so all that would happen is that I would fail over and over again. I am a big foodie and the idea of giving up the meals I loved sounded like an absolute nightmare to me. I also hated going to the gym so eventually, I resigned myself to the fact that I would always be on the chubbier side. Slowly but surely, however, I started making small changes in my life and I am so grateful that I did. I didn’t think that these changes would make much difference but over 3 months, they amounted to something huge. I am now so happy with the body that I am in and it is only fair that I share exactly how I did it with you. If you want to know how I lost weight without cutting anything that I loved, carry on reading!
Walk, walk, and walk some more
You don’t have to do grueling workouts or even join a gym in order to burn calories, and that is not what I did either! You can burn so many calories simply by walking more in your day-to-day life, Take the stairs instead of taking an elevator, walk to the store instead of taking your car! In addition to weight loss, walking is great for toning the legs and butt too. A long walk can be very relaxing and make you feel much better about yourself, it releases endorphins and enables you to see some great sights – so what isn’t to love about it? You can listen to music or a podcast while you walk too, that is what I enjoy doing and it makes the time go by really quickly. Just make sure that you are wearing the right clothes and comfortable shoes on your walk, it’s also worth investing in BodyGlide Foot Anti Blister Balm. I got blisters quite often when I first started walking more and I found this product to be an absolute lifesaver.
Change one meal a day for a healthier one
You don’t have to completely change your eating habits in order to get to your dream weight but it is important to make some healthy changes where you can. I am a huge foodie and some things that I do are simply make my portions smaller and perhaps remove some of the cards, replacing them with leafy greens. Even though this doesn’t sound like a lot, it can make a big difference if you do it with one meal every single day. Since I started doing this, I have actually started craving healthier meals, which is something I never thought would happen! Really think about what you are putting into your body and don’t be afraid to experiment with some new, healthy ingredients.
Look at yourself naked
While being naked more often and sleeping naked isn’t going to help you lose weight, it is going to make you more comfortable with yourself and that is so important. It’s about confidence but it’s also about noticing the way that you look and doing something about it where you need to. If you look at your body and notice some areas you do not like, this could prompt you to work on them. I know that when I notice I am getting a little more fat on my stomach, I am more likely to cut down and work out over the next few days. Being naked will really help you focus on those problem areas.
Keep your leftovers
If you are like me, you want to finish every meal that you have even if it is a massive portion because you don’t like wasting food. But portion control is such an important aspect of your weight loss journey. If you go to a restaurant and are given a huge serving, don’t be afraid to ask for a doggy bag. The same goes for if you make a big portion of food for yourself. You can freeze some and have it another time or you can simply keep leftovers for the next day. Another option to slim down your meals is to split your pasta or rice portion into two and make up the other half of the meal with vegetables. It’s all about making small changes that you can stick to, which will make a big difference in the long term. In addition to this tip, make sure that you chew your food plenty, stop eating when you are full and drink plenty of water in your daily life.
Step away from the scale
You are trying to lose weight so obviously you are going to want to keep track of your progress but weighing yourself too often is not good. Your weight fluctuates so much depending on what time of the day you are weighing yourself, your hormones, whether you eat a big meal the night before, your water intake, and more. Weigh yourself once a month at the most and more focus on how your clothes are fitting and how you feel in yourself. Taking measurements of your body on a regular basis can give you a much more accurate reading of your REAL results so consider doing this rather than becoming obsessed with the scales.
Now that you know some more of what I did in order to change my body in 3 months, what are you waiting for? There is absolutely no reason why you cannot do it too. It’s time to put some of the steps into action yourself and I promise you that you will be so glad you did. It’s not just about looking better, it’s about feeling better and I am sure that with some simple changes, you will feel like a million bucks!
