SHOUT Outreach for HIV Education & Prevention

 

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

Create support for behavior change

Reduce or eliminate barriers to change

Provide education and prevention skills necessary for behavior change

Work to change the environment in which they live and operate

Drug use and risk behaviors associated with crack and other drugs are putting men, women and adolescents at increased risk for contracting and transmitting HIV.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
SHOUT Outreach is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The target audiences are:

  • At risk youth between the ages of 14-25
  • Injection Drug Users
  • Sexual partners of injection drug users
  • Men who have sex with men
  • Persons having unprotected sex
  • Substance abusers
  • Persons who exchange sex for drugs or money

SERVICES OFFERED:
The SHOUT Outreach staff conducts educational curriculums, presentations and prevention programs within:

  • Schools
  • Churches
  • Community agencies
  • Adult groups or organizations
  • Youth groups
  • Colleges
  • Substance abuse treatment facilities
  • SHOUT office
