Gaudenzia Erie, Inc., in accordance with Federal Regulations, provides preference and/or priority for the treatment of pregnant injection drug users, pregnant substance abusers and injection drug users.
Rates of illicit drug use is highest among those aged 18 to 25.
Relapse is the return to drug use after an attempt to stop. Relapse indicates the need for more or different treatment.
Drug addiction is tretable and can be successfully managed.

What is Residential Treatment?
Residential treatment is an intensive program where individuals are provided treatment in a facility. Residential treatment is ideal for women who are having toninuous difficult in maintaining sobriety.
What is unique to House of Healing?
House of Healing's primary purpose is to address the critical need for residential treatment for chemical dependency for women, pregnant women and/or women with children. The goal is to support the transition back into the community to achieve a better quality of life.
Who qualifies for this program?
The program is developed for women 18 years or older, pregnant women and allows two children ages 12 and under per woman.
What can I expect while in residential treatment?
You will be given an individual counselor who will work with you to identify personal treatment goals. You will participate in individual sessions and group counselor while in treatment.
The treatment process is unique in its focus on gender-specific concerns such as parenting, trauma issues, parent education and support, and educational seminars
Are there any services that are special to women with children?
Yes, we will provide the best services possible to women and their children. Services are offered to address the barriers for women with children which include, but are not limited to:
What is the length of treatment?
The length of stay can last 180 days or more. The length of stay is based on what your needs are.
What about my family?
Gaudenzia Erie is committed to helping family members and significant others heal and begin their own recovery process. Family members are strongly encouraged to participate and be involved.
Are there any medical services?
Gaudenzia Erie House of Healing is staffed 24 hours a day, including licensed nursing staff. Additionally, a physician on-site will evaluate patients and monitor any changing medical need.
House of Healing works with local hospitals and OB/GYN practitioners to meet the needs of the women in the program
Who else will be part of my treatment while I am in the program?
Any person you would like who will positively impact your recovery. This can include community-based supports as well as family members.
What about payment?
There are a variety of options available: private insurance(s), medical assistance (VBH, CCBHO), sliding fee scale, contracts through probation and parole, and contracts with county department of drug and alcohol services.
